Welcome to the world of
contemporary folk artist D. A. Sweigart!

The artist - slightly scewed...as she is in real life.As you can tell, Scotties and other wee beasties are my favorite subjects to paint and draw. I have been doing artwork in some form or another since I was 12 years old (and don't even ask me my age but can you say baby boomer?) but it's only since 2003 that I began offering my art on ebay.com. What a surprise! I received SUCH a warm and enthusiastic welcome, I was stunned. The work on these two pages represents just a small portion of the art I have created for art patrons. Feel free to browse, you can click on the thumbnails to view any image larger. Please note that the images displayed here are low-resolution graphics made for the web. The actual artwork is much clearer and more vibrant!

I'm just tickled pink to announce that one of my paintings was chosen to grace the doorway of a wonderful children's toy shop in London (yes! London, England!). My very best wishes for their continued success! There's nothing finer in life than beasties and bright eyed children. Together it's magic!

Thanks to all of you who have become such delightful collectors of my artwork...it is for you and your precious pets that my greatest inspiration continues. If you see anything that makes your heart beat a little faster, just email me and inquire. I love hearing from new friends!

Best wishes and big aroos!
Deborah - D. A. (Day)

I also write the poems that accompany many of my pieces. Some are inspired by sad things like a dear pet crossing the bridge...others are just for fun. I like to think my own Scottie girlie does all the things I imagine her to do when I'm not looking! Perhaps your own wee doggie is similarly talented!

I am not a portrait artist...preferring to simply have fun with my own little fantasy world where dogs can fly or sail away into the moon when we're not paying attention.

Chihuahua HowlDO YOU DO COMMISSIONS?
Folks have asked me about commissions, etc. I do accept commissions, though at this time I am busier than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rockers just keeping up with the demand! There is a considerable wait time for custom work but if you are patient, I will gladly accept your money! Ha! I do pen & inks, acrylics and oils in a variety of sizes...the most popular being the small canvases. Artwork prices range widely from about $20 for some of my miniature pieces while some larger work on canvas has sold for over $300. Happily, the average ebay auction price has been in the 45-150 dollar range. See? I am cute and affordable too! Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy my art!

All artwork, graphics and images are copyrighted property of the artist DAS. I am happy to allow their temporary use if you just please ask first! Mama always said to mind your manners! Thanks!
